Characters: It is brownish yellow powder in appearance, without impurities visible to naked eyes, and with a peculiar taste and odor.

Active ingredients: total saponins, astragaloside  

Specifications: total saponins 3.0%, astragaloside 0.3%

Testing methods: For total saponins, it is in accordance with the method specified in “Determination of Total Saponins in Health Food” of Technical Specifications for Inspection and Evaluation of Health Food (2003). For astragaloside, it is in accordance with the method of testing astragaloside in radix astragali in the Volume I of Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China.
